My husband’s aunt has recently undergone a surgery to remove a massive blood cyst from her ovaries, which resulted to simultaneous removal of her uterus and appendix. She stayed at the hospital for 1 week and waited for the result of the biopsy before being discharged from the hospital. We were so worried because the initial finding of the surgeon was a Stage 2 cancer, but still, we have to wait for the biopsy result for verification. When the result came out, we were so thankful that it was not cancer. But, she is within the borderline, thus still needs to undergo chemotherapy. But still, we are so glad and very thankful that it could still be prevented.
She has no idea that she has this cyst on her ovaries. Everybody notices that her tummy is getting bigger and thought that she just need to diet. She tried eating less, no rice at dinner, and even planned to take diet pills like nuphedragen to get rid of her belly fats. But, one time, she experienced a difficulty in urination. She first thought that it was a urinary track tract infection and decided to self-medicate and used a supplement. But, after a few days of taking the supplement, she decided to visit an OB because she is still experiencing difficulty in urination. The OB asked her to have a trans-vaginal ultrasound to further check what’s on her ovary. The ultrasound result showed that she has cysts on her ovaries similar to the size of a melon. Thus, the OB-GYNE recommended for a surgery as soon as possible to remove the cyst because it might burst anytime. During the surgery, the doctor decided to remove her appendix as well because it is being affected by the cyst.
She’s home now, and recovering so fast. She’ll have her check up on Monday and the doctor will be discussing to her the chemotherapy procedure that she’ll undertake. We hope and pray that she’ll be completely treated.
