Sick again

It seems like Andre is being sickly lately. Three weeks ago, he was hospitalized due to excessive vomiting and diarrhea. We brought him to the hospital to prevent dehydration and stayed there for 2 days. We were glad that it was just a simple diarrhea based on laboratory results. It was so painful for us to see him in that situation. He can hardly sleep, he can’t walk alone, he can’t play with his cars, and the worst part is that he can’t eat what he likes. He wasn’t allowed to eat for a day to relax his stomach. Medyo matakaw kasi si Andre, kung ano ano kinakain. Poor boy, he was only allowed to drink 2 oz of milk every 3 hours. Nakakaawa kasi he asks for more, bitin sya. After spending 2 days in the hospital, pinauwi na kami ng Pedia. It took a week for his stool to become normal.

Last Friday, he had fever and continued until Saturday. So we decided to bring him to his Pedia. According to his Pedia, he has bronchitis and gave him so many medications for a week. He just gave us medications coz he doesn’t want Andre to be hospitalized again. He suggested us to nebulize. Andre refuses to be nebulized because he is frightened with its sound. Kailangan pa namin sya bolahin, and say that it’s his airplane. Ayun, nagpapanebulize but not that seriously.

We’re glad he’s condition is improving; his phlegm starts to come out. Haay, we just hope that he’ll get well soon.

I hope Andre gets better soon. We just went through something similar with our son.
Kids that age really get sick more often because that is when they start getting exposed to all these infectious agents. Hopefully, it will eventually make their immune system stronger. :) So yes, there is an end to this “sickly” phase.

Having a sick child is really scary. I can still remember those days. We were in and out of the emergency room because of my daughter’s asthma. We need to be really vigilant as these days, dengue fever is so deadly. Hope Andre gets well soon.

Like how most parents say it, bago talaga lumaki ang bata, maraming pinagdadaanan – ubo, sipon, madadapa pa, etc. As long as we have preventive measures and we are quick in having a doctor’s advise, all will be well. Good to note your little boy’s better. Take extra care coz the change in weather is really nuts.

Hi Bang. I hope by now Andre is doing much better . Sometimes, with the changing weather, kids can be quite prone to sickness. Wishing your lil’ one well. Take care!
