A moment with Paeng Nepomuceno
Rafael “Paeng” Nepomuceno is a Pinoy and a 6-Time World Bowling Champion and is recognized as the greatest international bowler in the sports history. He has won the World Cup of Bowling four times in three different decades, i.e., 1976, 1980, 1992, and 1996. Paeng is the only bowling athlete in the world who has received the prestigious International Olympic Committee President’s Trophy, which is the highest sports award that can be given to an athlete. Paeng was the first international male bowling athlete to be preserved in the International Bowling Hall of Fame and Museum based in Missouri in 1993 and his 7-ft figure is displayed at the entrance of the International Bowling Museum and Hall of Fame. The World Bowling Writers has named Paeng the World Bowler of the Year in 1984,1985, and 1992. He was honored the second time as the youngest bowler, at 19 years old, to win the World Cup. Paeng is the only Pinoy athlete who received the highest award to a Filipino by three Philippine presidents, i.e., by President Ferdinand E. Marcos in 1984, by President Joseph Estrada in 1999, and by President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo in 2008. He made it to the Guinness World Records for the third time after settling his 118th career championship in late 2007, making him the holder of the most number of tenpin bowling titles.
That is Paeng Nepomuceno and I’m happy to have a moment with him kahit na sa picture lang hehe. He’s good-looking pala and a “hunky papa”. I think he goes to the gym and takes bodybuilding supplements to achieve his well-developed body. Ang saya ko sa picture noh! This was taken during our office’s bowling tournament that was held in AMF-Puyat Bowling and Billiards Center in Makati. Pinagkaguluhan na sya and nakigulo na din ako hehe.
