On getting fit

treadmill

This is my fitness equipment that I haven’t used for years. I bought it years ago when I am still a single. I used to make use of the treadmill for me to be able to stay fit when I miss my workout at the gym. It is now located at the other room and full of dust. ;) Now that the treadmill’s belt is broken, we’re thinking of replacing them for the treadmill to become useful again. We saw a replacement at the fitness store in the nearby mall.

I enjoy working out at the gym and lifting weights because it really helped me to lose weight before our wedding day. I am now thinking of working out at the gym and will look for a fitness center near our place. I really need to lose weight because we wanted a new baby. For the meantime, I go jogging thrice a week at the nearby memorial park where lots of people also jog.

Craving for fruits

Andre is not a fan of fruits. When his younger, he used to eat papaya and apple, but now, he doesn’t want to eat them anymore. I cannot blame him because I am not a fruit lover too. I know it’s bad because fruits are very healthy. Now, as a healthy step, I am again including fruits in my weekly market. My all-time favorite is ripe mango. I also eat guyabano, banana, pineapple, apple, orange, strawberry, avocado, lanzones, papaya, and sineguelas (also known as the Spanish plum). Aha! I haven’t seen guyabano and sineguelas in the market lately. I will look for them this weekend. I hope I can find one.

I remember during my stay in my hometown, Cavite, we never buy guyabano from the market because we have it in our backyard. We just have to ask someone to climb the tree to get the fruit. Oh, I miss those days. I also miss eating sineguelas. I remember my late maternal lola and aunts bringing boxes of sineguelas every time they visit us in Cavite. They picked them from their sineguelas trees (Spanish Plum trees) in Ilocos. We also used to sell them in our neighborhood because we can’t finish them all. An entrepreneur diba. ;)

Weird weather

We had a weird weather. It rained the whole day yesterday due to typhoon, and now, it’s a very sunny day. Thank God that the typhoon did not stay long in our area because it might cause floods again. Flood is a big problem in our area because we have to lift all our furniture and electrical appliances to avoid getting wet. Yesterday, my friend was so worried of his plants, like perennials and Bermuda grass that he recently planted on his garden, because of the typhoon. The typhoon might ruin his plants if it stayed long. He’s glad, and we’re all glad that our place is no longer affected. I hope that this typhoon won’t cause much damage to other places similar to the damages caused by the previous typhoon that hit Bicol and Sorsogon.

Insurance???

Do you think it is still a good idea to invest in insurance nowadays? We all know that we are all experiencing a global economic crisis and there are several large US-based financial firms that have been closed. Yet, there are still local insurance companies that offer various affordable packages that you can avail at low rates. A friend of mine tries to convince us to avail their term life insurance and we haven’t decided yet if we would get them. If you’re thinking of getting a term life insurance click here.
