Zambales trip: Waves, Capones Island, and Camara Island

During our Zambales trip, I took a video of the waves and uploaded it on Facebook. Since nobody had brought any camcorders during our trip, I used our digital camera instead to capture this video.

You can notice three people having a good time surfing. Also shown in the video is a view of three islands, which include Capones and Camara Islands. Capones Island (left) is where the Lighthouse is located, while the middle and small island (right) are the Camara Islands, which were separated by white sands. It is a beautiful place and has very clear waters. We were able to visit those Islands, too. I share with you the experience on my next post. That’s it for now! I need to sleep na because I have to go the office tomorrow. Ciao!

Dogs can have arthritis too!

I received a call from a friend, who has a Golden Retriever dog named Pookah, asking me to assist him in bringing Pookah to the veterinarian. According to my friend, his 5-yr old dog can hardly work. Poor Pookah! So, we brought Pookah to the veterinarian and found out that Pookah has arthritis. I did not know hat dog can have arthritis, too. Hehehe! The vet prescribed Rimadyl as a remedy. It is a medicine for dog’s pain caused by arthritis or surgery. We hope that Pookah gets better now.

Campaign for the passage of a law to ban Asbestos

I have come across an article, from one of the journals I am working at, about the risks of exposure to asbestos. Exposure to asbestos is very dangerous to human health. It leads to mesothelioma, a form of cancer on the lining of the lung or the lining of the abdominal cavity that is caused by exposure to asbestos. Here in our country, there is an intensified campaign for the passage of a law on Asbestos. The national centers/unions, federations and Global Union Federation (GUF) affiliates representing the labor sector of the Philippines support the passage of pending bills in both Chambers of Congress to ban the importation, manufacture, processing or use of all types of asbestos and asbestos-containing product. They agree to work together to ban asbestos and eliminate asbestos-related diseases like Mesothelioma. I agree that this law should be approved so that no Filipinos have to undergo Mesothelioma treatment.

I need a new pair of shoes

I need a new pair of shoes because my favorite shoes as of the moment were broken. It was broken while I am at the church last Thursday. I’m glad the husband fetched me because it would be hard for me to walk with a broken shoe. We weren’t able to go to the nearest mall last Sunday because we were so lazy yesterday because the temperature was so hot. We just stayed in our room and watched DVDs. Maybe later, when Andre wakes up, we will go to the mall to buy shoes. Love this pair of shoes from Dansko that I saw in the internet. I wish I could find a similar design because there is no Dansko shop in our place.

Another PCOS case

I had a chance to talk to my college friend who has been married for 6 years, but still working on having a baby. I found out that she also has a PolyCystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) like me. She has been taking medications to regulate her menstruation and waiting to be pregnant.

I’ve been trying to lose weight for quite sometime now, but still finding it hard to lose weight despite jogging, eating less, and taking a diet supplement. I have observed that my metabolism had slowed down. I have read that being heavy weight and having trouble losing weight are effects of PCOS, which I was diagnosed few months ago. I have also learned that chances of having it are higher if other women in your family have PCOS, irregular periods, or diabetes. My father has diabetes, as well as my 2 older sisters. Haay, I have to really to work hard on losing weight. We need to change our eating habits and exercise.

I’ve also seen these vegetable, but not quite sure what it is. Its color is similar to a watermelon, but the shape is similar to a winter melon (‘UPO’ in tagalog).
