Celebrations

My dad’s birthday is coming

About two weeks from now, my dad will be celebrating his 75th birthday. Instead of giving him a romeo y julieta vintage cigar as a present, we decided to give him a birthday party. It really calls for a celebration because there are only few people that reach this age as healthy as my dad. It is indeed a milestone in his life.

We’re done with the venue reservation and made a downpayment at the caterer. The caterer gave us a good deal. They allowed us to bring extra food with no extra charge. We will be providing the dessert. I will be preparing COFFEE Jelly instead of the usual fruit salad.
We have already distributed the invitations for the said occasion. I’m glad that my sisters, even when they’re not here, are helping me with the program. I still have to contact someone for the sound system. One more thing, we still do not have the souvenirs for dad’s birthday. I am thinking of paper weights as souvenirs for the guests. I asked my youngest sister to scout the prices in Divisoria and look for other give-away ideas. We hope that this party will be a successful one.

December – the busiest month of the year

Time really flies so fast!
It is exactly seventy-days before Christmas and I haven’t made a list of the gifts that I am going to give to my family, God-children, and friends. I am thinking of giving
personalized gifts to my friends. I am planning to make some garlic-herb cream cheese spread and give them to my friends. I also want to make blueberry cheesecake, but I wish I have ample time to do them because December is indeed the busiest month of the year. It is during this month when we are overloaded with work because we have to finish them before the year ends. It is also the month for reunions with family and friends. But, it is also one of my favorite months, aside from September – our birthday month, because of the long vacation and reunion with friends and family. :)

My Dad is turning 75

Weeks ago, I asked my dad when is their plan to go back to the US and visit my sister again. He told me that he wants it after his birthday. BTW, it will be his 75th birthday in February next year. This only means PARTY!

It is indeed a milestone of his life. There are only few people who live up to this age and we’re happy that he is healthy and groovy at his age. So I am starting to plan for his 75th birthday. I am starting to look for caterers, venue, and souvenirs for the said occasion. I want a souvenir that will make the guests remember my dad’s 75th birthday. Since it is his diamond year, I might give away loose diamonds. Hehehe! :D I am also thinking of a nice cake design. I asked my former officemate, who accepts made-to-order cakes, for a quotation for the cake design I want. My idea is a guitar-shaped cake with an old man. She told me that she’ll think of a nice cake design and gave me a reasonable price.  I’m looking forward seeing my dad’s cake.

For now, I will start to gather my dad’s old pictures and will try to make a photo story of him.

A small get together with one of my BFFs

These girls have a very special place in my heart because they’ve been a big part of my life. I am now 32 years old, and you know what? I have spent over one-third of these 32 years with them. We’ve spent most of our teenage years together during our “church choir days”. We’ve been together during the highs and lows of our lives. This kind of friendship with them is exceptional. They are the friends with whom I can relax and just hang out, have fun and share our innermost thoughts, deep dark secrets, our hopes, joys, and fears.

We decided to have this mini get-together because one of my friends came home from Italy and it has been years since we saw each other. One of my friends has lost so much weight and we asked her what she has done to lose weight. She told us that there were no diet-pills involved. She just eliminated rice and ate more fruits. She lost more than 20 pounds in 6 months. I wish I could do that too. :D

We all had a great time! This was an all-girls night-out. We have talked about our past – crushes, boyfriends and boys – and present – our husband and families. I am looking forward seeing them again in October. :)

I am Thirty Two

I have so many things to be thankful of in my 32 years of existence – a loving family, wonderful friends, healthy life, and a home-based job that every mom wants.  I’ve been blessed with so much blessings.

I can say that this is one of the most special birthday celebrations I had in my life. Having a simple celebration with the most special people in my life – my Dad, my Mom, my youngest sister, my very loving husband, and of course, my adorable son (minus my two sisters abroad together with their families). I am looking forward celebrating occasions like this with them. Oh, I miss them so dearly.

We had dinner at Yakimix in Mall of Asia and enjoyed their buffet. I asked my sister that we meet in MOA because they’ll be coming from Cavite and we are from Bulacan. Abeth, Andre, and I went to MOA early for us to be able to view the sunset at the Baywalk while waiting for them. We then brought Andre to the Kidz Universe to play. It was such a kid’s haven! Andre enjoyed the place so much. I asked Abeth to accompany Andre inside while I meet my parents and sister at Yakimix. While waiting for Abeth and Andre to finish playing at the Kidz Universe, we had reserved a table for us so that when they arrive, the table is already set. We all enjoyed the dinner buffet, most especially my mom who loves seafoods very much. Andre didn’t enjoy much because he is such a picky-eater. The only food he ate is the luncheon meat. He enjoyed cooking his own food. He also enjoyed the ice cream.

Our stomachs were all full when we left the restaurant, which only means weight gain because we won’t be able to burn the foods we ate. :D Hmmmm, I should look for new weight loss supplements again because I have to stop taking this KILLER SLIMMING COFFEE that I have discovered a few days ago.
