TARA! KAIN tayo!
Dinner Buffet at Diamond Hotel’s Corniche
We had another hotel buffet at Diamond Hotel’s Corniche last March.
Corniche is Diamond Hotel’s latest restaurant, which is located at the hotel’s lobby. You can easily see the restaurant as you enter the hotel’s main entrance. Their buffet selection comprises Asian, Western, Japanese, salad, and dessert stations. We were able to avail their dinner buffet at half the price – that is only P710 from the original price of P1420.

I made a reservation a week prior to our scheduled dinner. We left our house early and went to Star City and availed the unlimited rides for Andre. Unfortunately, he was not feeling well that time. He has a slight fever, but still enjoyed the unlimited kiddie bump car ride. We left Star City at 6PM and proceeded to Diamond Hotel for our 7pm reservation. Corniche has a sophisticated ambiance with nice interiors.
So, let the food porn begin.
For my first plate, I had Shrimp Gambas, Lechon Macau, Baked Salmon, and Lamb stew.
I love the Shrimp Gambas and crusted baked Salmon. The lamb stew is just okay and the lechon Macau as well.

For my second plate, I had freshly cooked creamy seafood pasta. I loved this pasta with lots of fresh shrimps and cheese.
Just ask for the chef at the past station to cook this for you.

Prime roast beef with grilled asparagus as side dish. I want my beefwell-done. This roast beef is a just okay.

Assorted steamed seafoods – prawns, mussels, and oysters.

My forever favorites – tempura and sushi

Since I so love Japanese foods, I have to get another serving

Lastly, nagtitira talaga ako ng space sa tyan ko for dessert.
Chocolate cake, cheesecake, creme brule, and dark chocolate mouse

My husband also had these:
noodle soup

assorted dimsums (he loves dimsums. He never fails to try them in every restaurant buffet)

fresh water melon and melon

Let me also share their buffet station.
The Tempura Station.
My husband loved this so much. He was so happy that the chefs always refill them regularly. So, he can eat as much as he wants.

The sick Andre

mommy and Andre

We had a satisfying dinner at Corniche even though the food selections were not as huge as Sofitel’s. We also need to eat fast so that we could go home because Andre still had fever that time. He was not in the mood. He wasn’t able to eat well and wasn’t able to enjoy the fondue.
Happy eating!

Hyatt Hotel’s Market Café – A pre-anniversary celebration
We were able to avail another Hotel Buffet promo. This time it’s in Hyratt’s Market Café. We were able to avail 3 vouchers for the buffet with unlimited drinks for P995 each (original value is P1650), inclusive of 12% VAT and 10% service charge. Isn’t that great? We availed the promo for me, husband, and my mother-in-law a few days before our wedding anniversary. It was my MIL’s first time to experience hotel buffet and was so overwhelmed with the food selection. Market Café offers Chinese, Japanese, Western, Indian, Korean and Filipino dishes, and desserts. We also tried some of the slot machines at the Casino located just outside the restaurant.
Here’s a view of their buffet:
Chinese Cuisine Station (dimsums and noodles)
Their dimsums are just okay.

Fresh Seafood Station
(no Lobsters and Crabs na katulad sa Sofitel)

Bread and Pizza Station
(Andre enjoyed their garlic bread)

Pasta Station
(they have Alfredo Sauce, Tomato Sauce, and Pesto Sauce – syempre Pasta in Pesto Sauce is our choice )

Japanese Food Station
(sushis, sashimis, and oysters??? – I wonder why the oysters are included here
)
Their sushis are just so so and their tempura section is always empty. They do not refill them regularly.

Roast Prime Ribs
The best ribs I have tasted so far. The beef is so tender.
The meat separates from the bone easily and the mushroom gravy tastes soo good.

Dessert Station
(They have a few selections of desserts compared to Sofitel, but I loved their super moist cake.)
Crepe station
(I asked for a mango crepe)

blueberry cheesecake

Halo-halo station

Now, it’s time to eat!
Plate # 1: Vegetarian Pasta
(Andre had two servings of this minus the broccoli ;) )

Plate # 2: a slab of Roast Prime Beef Ribs
with mushroom gravy, fried potatoes, and mashed squash
(I enjoyed this so much! Sarap ng beef, soo tender and tasty.)

Plate # 3: Grilled foods
(blue marlin, lamb, shrimp, squids, and kebab)
The grilled shrimps and grilled tuna are bland. :(

Plate # 4: Tempura
Sabi nga ni Chyng, “walang tempura na hindi masarap!”
But, they have a limited supply of tempura in their station. They do not serve them right away.

Plate # 5: Assorted sushis
This should has been my favorite part, but it failed.
Their maki is just okay. But, I loved their fresh shrimp in vinegar (kilawin na hipon sa atin).

Plate # 6: Dessert
Mango Crepe with their home-made Mango Ice cream. The Ice Cream was not creamy.

While waiting for my hubby and MIL to come back from Casino, I also tried their chocolate cake and blueberry cheesecake. I loved the chocolate cake. I just can’t get some more because I am so full na.

and I also asked the waiter for a brewed coffee.

It was another mouth-watering and gastronomic experience. And hoping for more hotel buffet discount and promos so that it would be more affordable. :D
Happy eating!
Dinner at Sofitel’s SPIRAL
One of my dreams is to spend our weekend in a five-star hotel. But, hubby finds it impractical because of the costly accommodation rates.
And I discovered Cash Cash Pinoy, a site that offers various internet deals, such as hotel accommodations, body massage, restaurant deals, and hotel buffets, from 50 up to 80% discount. With them, I was able to avail Sofitel’s buffet at the famous Spiral. When I saw the deal, which offers a 50% discount, I immediately grabbed the opportunity. I purchased the online and told hubby that we will be having a dinner at Sofitel. When I told him that it has a 50% discount, hindi na sya kumontra.
Came January 21, 2011, about three months after I bought the Cash Cash Pinoy’s deal, we had our very first dinner buffet experience at Sofitel’s SPIRAL. A week before the said date, I made a reservation for the three of us. We’re glad that Andre is still free of charge.
It was a delightful and mouth-watering experience. I think we were able to change our plates 7 times to enjoy try various cuisines. :)
Sorry for the not so good photos. We were not able to take decent food photos because we are too busy eating.

Dinner Buffet at Sofitel’s Spiral – a dream come true ;-)
Staying in a 5-star hotel with my family is one of my dreams. Since, we find it too expensive, a dream is still a dream.
I’ve also wanted to experience hotel buffets and I am so excited that I will be able to try it for the first time. Thanks to CASH CASH PINOY, I was able to avail their promo – a 50% off at the Heavenly Sofitel Spiral Buffet. I bought two vouchers for me and Abeth. I didn’t tell Abeth about it at first because I want to surprise him. But, I can’t keep it from him because I’m excited to have a formal dinner with him So, I told him about it and I’m glad that he was happy and excited too. I only bought two vouchers because I thought buying another voucher for Andre is a waste of money because he won’t enjoy the food there because Andre is a picky-eater. But, I learned that children 6 years and below are free. So, Andre will be joining us! Isn’t it great?
Here are some photos from Chyng Reyes: (However, these photos are Spiral’s breakfast buffet. Thanks Chyng!
)
Thanks to CASHCASHPINOY’s deal because we were able to afford dining in at one of Manila’s best hotels. I was able to purchase two vouchers for only Php1160 each and are valid until January 31, 2011!!! I love this site!
Haay, I need to diet again after this buffet, because buffet means lots of food = weight gain. Need to check hydroxycut reviews for weight loss supplements.
