A good book for first-time moms
One of my friends is expecting their first baby soon and they are very excited about it. She has been asking me tips on pregnancy like what to eat and what to avoid. She also asked me about the best prenatal vitamins that my doctor has given me. I also send her a checklist of the things that she should prepare before giving birth. I also lend her this book that my sister gave me.
It’s a great book for first-time moms like her. It is very informative. I think every first time moms must have this book.
Seriously
It’s 2010 and I’m still struggling to lose weight. I’ve tried my best to shed off some pounds and I did, but gained it back again when I stopped taking the diet pill that my doctor recommended me. Stopping the diet pill is not actually the reason behind the weight I regained; it’s actually my eating habits.
My doctor advised me that I should really make a move to lose weight if we really wanted to have baby number 2. Now, I am looking for the best diet pills to help me lose weight, which I will accompany with healthy diet and exercise. Seriously. Yes, I am, and baby number 2 would be my driving force. Wish me luck!
Home remedies for dark circles under eyes
My friend, who is about to get married in 2 months, is asking me how to get rid of dark circles under eyes. Since I have no idea on how to get rid of them, I asked Mr. Google and found the following home remedies and suggested her to try them:
1. Drink at least ten glasses of water everyday.
2. Eight hours of sleep is a must.
3. Close your eyes and cover eyelids with slices of raw potato or cucumber for 15-20 minutes. Wash with warm water and apply a cream.
4. Make a 1:1 mixture of fresh potato and cucumber juices. Soak some cotton and put on your eyelids and keep for 20 minutes. Wash your eyes with cold water.
5. Apply a mixture of lemon and tomato juice (equal parts) on the dark circles 2 times a day.
6. Apply a paste of turmeric powder with pineapple juice for dark circles under the eyes.
7. Crush some mint and apply it around the eye.
8. Massage with almond oil under and around eyes at bed time daily for 2 weeks and see the improvement.
9. Rub the area with a powdered Vitamin E capsule and wipe off with a mixture of honey and egg white to reduce darkness around the eye.
10. Put hot and cold clothes alternatively under eyes for 10 minutes. Then apply some almond oil on the dark surface before going to bed.
Natural fat burning foods
I have come across an article showing a list of foods that acts as natural fat burners. These include: fruits rich in Vitamin C, which dilutes fat and makes it less effective and helps in releasing the fat from the body; apples, wherein its antioxidants content may help prevent metabolic syndrome, a condition marked by excess belly fat or an apple body shape; calcium in dairy products, e.g., milk, cheese, and yogurt, which act as fat burner that can boost weight loss by increasing fat breakdown in fat cells; and nuts, which help you feel full while also increasing the body’s ability to burn fat. Foods containing chilies or cayenne pepper are also considered fat burning foods because the capsaicin that could be found in it helps in increasing the metabolism. Capsaicin is a thermogenic food, so it causes the body to burn extra calories for 20 minutes after you eat the chilies.
FYI. Have a healthy Christmas everyone!
New goal: A healthier life
I’ve been doing everything to lose weight:
(1) I just bought a stationary bike for me to be able to do the cardio workout indoors;
(2) I am now starting to control my carbohydrate intake for me to be able to lose weight;
(3) I also tried taking diet supplements for further weight reduction, but stopped after a week due to side effects; and
(4) I also prepare my packed lunch and snacks to avoid dining out because eating in fastfood restaurants is unhealthy.
From now on, I will be sharing various healthy and simple recipes. Stay tuned.
Let us all stay healthy.
